Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Grenache is a red varietal that brings some serious flavor. It’s
known for spicy, dark fruit notes and typically lives in warmer
regions. Near Mendocino County, Yorkville Highlands could not be
a better place for Grenache. The 2016 vintage was the last of four
long years of drought which had a profound impact on the
grapevines growing conditions
Production Notes
WINEMAKING
The fruit was whole-cluster fermented to promote the spicy
framboise notes found in great Grenache. Fermentation in small
open top vats with manual punchdowns. Aging for 13 months
in neutral French oak.
Winemaker Notes
Dark brambly scents of strawberry preserves, cassis, licorice
and black plum lead into a focused palate with balanced acidity.
Characteristic for Grenache, the spicy- botanical notes prevail
from whole cluster fermentation. Fine tannins and nice
structure frame this masculine wine.
